Upcoming Opportunities to Serve
MS. DORSEY'S CLOTHES CLOSET
Ms. Dorsey's Clothes Closet in Salem supplies clothing and houseware items to low-income families in the valley at no charge. Last year, 2,500 different people who shopped more than once were served; 96% of those shoppers reported an annual income of $25,000 or less. The Clothes Closet also needs regular volunteers who help sort donations and assist customers during business hours.
FAMILY PROMISE
St. Paul's continues to support homeless families through Family Promise with Our Lady of Perpetual Health Catholic Church. Thanks to all who helped serve the families.
SERVE East Salem
St. Paul’s is part of the SERVE East Salem committee with First United Methodist Church and Christian Life International. We help throughout the school year with student and teacher support. We are looking for mentors to help students with their reading skills. Volunteers are asked to spend 30 minutes each week listening to a student read. It is a wonderful way to help students improve their reading skills. SERVE East Salem will gear up again in the fall by supporting the students and teachers through mentoring, providing clothes and supplies, and in assisting with programs as needed.
